For the ones who dream of different times and faraway places.

This book was provided for free to all schools in Dolpa in May-June 2023. It has further been incorporated in several school curriculums in Lower Dolpa, Kathmandu, and Scotland. It has also been deposited in the British Library (UK) and the ICCROM Library (Italy).

The book was supported by the Economic and Social Research Council through the University of Glasgow and will be distributed for free to all Dolpa communities and schools. It would not exist without the generous support, advice, time and commitment of many individuals, including: His Holiness Ranag Rinpoche, Zinpa Gyaltsen Budha, Ngawang Lhundup, Yukta Bajracharya, Tenzin Norbu, Pema Chophel Lama, Binita Magaiya, Tsering Lhamo Gurung, Passang Dolpo, Sonam Choekyi Lama, Phurwa Gyaltsen, Herdiana Hakim, Kate Melody Burmon, Promina Shrestha, and many more. Thank you for your guidance, support and critical feedback. I am incredibly grateful to Krisha Tamrakar, for her beautiful illustrations, patience, expertise and friendship. And finally, I am incredibly grateful to the Dolpopa, for sharing their stories, homes and food with me.
